Peace initiative and Development Organization (DPI) is a Sudanese NGO registered as a national voluntary charitable humanitarian non-governmental organization founded by Sudanese youth and women volunteers, who work in humanitarian and development domain. The creation of this organization is inspired by a feeling among this group that something must be done to mitigate the sufferings of needy communities by time of the eruption of the crisis in 2003. DPI was established in 2012, and it was officially registered with the humanitarian aid commission (HAC) as a local non-governmental organization that provide relief, development assistance and/ to advocate and promotion human rights principles. DPI is a non-religious, non-political and non-profit –making organization, whose vision is to promote “Peace, Unity Development, women rights and Community Empowerment across the country. DPI has been able to gaining sufficient community’s confidence that would enable it to smoothly implement its future project and program activities. In addition to that, the organization has competent, and experienced staff with a goodwill in all States and well-equipped coordination office in Port Sudan as a temporary Headquarter for the Organization. Further to that, has two more offices were opened in Gadaref and Madani state. Plans are underway to open the another two offices field in Sennar and Kosti in the near future. Accordingly, the present geographical area of operations for the organization in Sudan includes, Khartoum state, Port Sudan, Madani, Gadaref, Kosti, Sennar, Kassala, North, South, East and Central Darfur states. A3.Vision The vision of DPI is “Peace, Unity, Development and Community Empowerment of different communities in Sudan. We seek a world of hope, tolerance and social justice, where poverty can be lifted so that can allow people to live in dignity and security. DPI will be a national force and a partner of choice within a worldwide movement that dedicated to ending poverty. We will be known everywhere for our unshakable commitment to the dignity of people.
